A misconduct investigation focus on certain allegations of behavioural irregularities against an employee and will indicate whether there are grounds to take disciplinary action against an employee. A grievance investigation focuses on an employee’s allegations or indications that he/or she was wrongly or unfairly treated by the employer or another employee or a supervisor or manager. The investigation will determine whether the grievance has a factual basis and will make recommendations on how the matter can be resolved.
